City of Toronto Issues First Toronto Environmental Progress Report

The City of Toronto has issued its 2015 Toronto Environmental Progress Report, the first report of its kind to document progress towards Toronto's environmental goals and priorities.The report highlights many achievements through to the end of 2014, made in partnership with communities and stakeholders across the city.Key achievements include reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing the number of urban trees, building infrastructure to support sustainable transportation and energy efficiency, reducing waste sent to landfills, and ensuring high-quality beaches and waterfront.In addition to evaluating Toronto's progress, the report documents key policies, programs and plans, raises awareness of complex environmental issues, and celebrates the success of the City and its residents.The 2015 Toronto Environmental Progress Report is available online at: http://bit.ly/1mXYzBuMore information about the City's environmental initiatives is available at: http://www.toronto.ca/environment.
