TTC launches new Post-Secondary Student Pass
August 24, 2010The TTC has launched a new Post-Secondary Student Metropass, which is now on sale for $99 per month at all TTC Collector Booths or at participating retail stores.Full-time or part-time post-secondary students, with no age restriction, that are enrolled in a program granting a degree or diploma only as defined in Post-Secondary Education Choice and Excellence Act, 2000, are eligible to use the Post-Secondary Student Metropass.The Post-Secondary Student Metropass must be used with a valid Post-Secondary TTC Student Photo ID card. Post-secondary students without a valid TTC Student Photo ID card will be required to pay the adult fare.Post-Secondary TTC Student Photo ID cards can be purchased for $7.00 at various accredited institutions or for $5.25 at Sherbourne Station. Applicants must present valid photo identification and an acceptance/enrolment letter or current timetable or current student activity card from their post-secondary institution.The Toronto Transit Commission moves about 1.5 million riders every weekday. The TTC is the third largest public transit system in North America servicing some 4.5 million people in the Greater Toronto Area, with a network of subways, streetcars, buses, and a specialized service, Wheel-Trans, for people who require accessible transportation.
