- Milestone was achieved for the TYSSE project on March 5, 2013, when tunnel boring machine "Moley" broke through the headwall at the extraction shaft on Allen Road (just north of Downsview station) completing the southern tunnels linking Finch West Station to Downsview Station. Machines "Holey" and "Moley" completed 2.8 km of twin tunnels, placing a total of 1,826 rings in each tunnel.
Northern Tunnels to be completed late 2013
- Tunnel boring machine “Torkie” began final stretch of tunnel on September 13, 2013, from the northern launch shaft at the Highway 407 station site, and is headed toward the Vaughan Metropolitan Centre Station’s extraction shaft. This extraction shaft is located south of Highway 7 and west of Jane Street.
- Tunnelling milestone: June 13th 2013, when the machine broke through the headwall at Steeles Avenue West, north of York University campus.
