City of Toronto to Celebrate New Driftwood Parkette Playground
More than 200 volunteers will join Councillor Anthony Perruzza to build a new community-designed playground at Driftwood Parkette. The City partnered with Foresters Financial, KaBOOM!, and many local residents and organizations to give children in the area the childhood they deserve by building a new playground based on children’s drawings and consultation with local children and their parents.Date: Saturday, August 13Times (approximate):8:30 to 9 a.m. – Kickoff ceremony and volunteer deployment11 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Best viewing of playground construction1 to 2:30 p.m. – Final construction phase2:30 to 3 p.m. – Ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate playgroundLocation: Driftwood Parkette, 359 Driftwood Ave.
