City of Toronto encourages people to commute sustainably during Smart Commute Week
As part of Smart Commute Week, September 19 to 25, the City of Toronto is encouraging people to commute in sustainable ways such as walking, cycling, taking transit, teleworking and/or carpooling.The City is also inviting the Toronto public to join in a Twitter-based scavenger hunt with daily photo targets and prizes.Commuters 18 years of age and older who live and/or work in Toronto can join the fun by following Smart Commute on Twitter at @SmartCommuteTO. Delivered by partner organizations across the Greater Toronto Hamilton Area, including the City of Toronto, the partners engage employers and property managers in promoting sustainable commuting to employees and building occupants through a variety of programs and services.Through its website, Smart Commute also offers information and a variety of resources, including a free online ride-matching service, to help the public explore options and make the switch to a more sustainable commute.
