Survivors of Domestic Violence – Portable Housing Allowance Program

This partnership between the Province and the City is a two year-pilot that will help survivors of domestic violence access safe and affordable housing. There are up to 320 housing allowances of $500 a month available for households on the centralized waiting list where the applicant is a survivor of domestic violence. As part of the program, a one-time payment of up to $2,500 may be available for first and last month's rent deposits for households finding new housing.Starting January 2017, agencies with eligible clients can refer them to Housing Connections.
