Acknowledging our Workers & Reopening the Economy
The fight for decent work is ongoing. We must continue to make workplaces more accessible, equitable & secure for all. Workers' rights are human rights.I want to acknowledge all of the frontline staff who are working to keep us healthy and safe during this pandemic. Thank you for everything that you do.The Premier released an update indicating that Ontario is on the path to reopening the economy, gradually. The provincial government has released 65 safety guidelines for businesses, including office spaces, restaurants and the auto industry. The Province is also adding 58 more labour inspector positions to help communicate the new safety guidelines and enforce emergency measures.We still need to adhere to the advice of public health professionals in order to do this correctly.
