Federal Update: Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy Extension The Government of Canada is extending the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy program (CEWS) by three more months - until end of August - in order to help employers keep their workers on payroll. The CEWS program covers 75 per cent of an eligible company's payroll, up to a maximum of $847 per week per employee. The federal government has broadened the eligibility for this benefit and asked companies to bring back their employees.
