Metrolinx Open House
Attention all residents! 🏙️ Join us at our community office 2350 Finch Ave West, Unit C on October 18th, from 10 am to 12:00 pm. Metrolinx staff will be present to address your questions and concerns about the Finch West LRT or any other Metrolinx projects! This is your chance to be heard!
Working to Improve Your Neighbourhood
Along with my team and City staff, I will visit local neighbourhoods around the ward to ask for your feedback on the local road resurfacing projects happening on your streets.
The first one will happen next Wednesday, Oct 18th from 6 to 7 p.m. at St. Andre Catholic School (36 Yvonne Ave), for residents living on Mayall, Yvonne, June, Kirby, Haymarket, & Snowden.
Yorkgate Employment & Social Services Renovations
There is an upcoming renovation at our Yorkgate Employment & Social Services location at 1 York Gate Blvd. These renovations are necessary to improve accessibility and ergonomics. They will start on Monday, November 6th, and are expected to take about 6 weeks.
During this time, in-person services for people getting Ontario Works will be moved elsewhere, but other services will stay the same.
If you get Ontario Works:
- You can call your caseworker or our main number at 416-397-9450.
- If you use MyBenefits online, you can report income or changes there.
- You can still send documents by fax or mail to our usual addresses.
- If you need to see someone in person, you can go to Lawrence Square Employment & Social Services at 700 Lawrence Ave. W. East Tower, Suite 330. Caseworkers from Yorkgate will be there to help while Yorkgate is closed.
Youth Climate Action Programs
Exciting news for Toronto District School Board (TDSB) students!
Introducing the Youth Climate Action Grants! This program provides funding up to $1,000 for student-led projects that:
- Educate & engage on climate change.
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
- Support TransformTO Net Zero Strategy.

The Leacock Foundation Youth Programs
Join Leacock Foundation’s kickoff of their Saturday Morning Literacy Club (SMLC) on October 14th, 2023. Held at Driftwood Public School every Saturday through December 16th. It's a FREE program with snacks, STEM workshops, literacy, physical education, and awesome experiential learning opportunities!
