Today I appeared in front of the Toronto Preservation Board to urge them to amend the listing statement of the property at 3100 Weston Road to include the Marian Shrine of Gratitude.
The Shrine is a religious monument and a gathering place for the neighbourhood and the community. The Toronto Preservation Board voted in favour of amending the listing statement. Amending the listing to include the Shrine ensures that if a development application comes forward to make changes to the site, the Heritage Impact Assessment report that the developer must complete will also need to consider the Shrine.
This is one step forward. Let's keep pushing to protect what matters to us all.
